Burning Heroes is a massive Enix turn-based RPG that centers around the struggles of four fighters who pursue independent scenarios. Along the way, four more heroes are unlocked. Separately, all eight learn that the bane of their existence is the same evil entity. Years ago, Deltaflame joined the Confederated Translation Center and announced on the CTC board one day that he wished to translate Burning Heroes. As was the custom during that time, various people offered to share the tasks almost immediately. Wildbill contributed table files perhaps ten years ago, including a mostly finished Kanji list of great proportions, but we never achieved a full script dump. Meanwhile, about that same time (with Bongo`'s help), Deltaflame began hacking the first 'burning hero' by hand and eventually released the only known partial English patch. In 2009, following the union between Magic-Destiny and Stealth, Bongo` and Wildbill began comparing notes one day and soon discovered that both had not only assisted Deltaflame, their files were still intact from those early times and sufficiently organized to quickly put together the rudiments of this project and produce a nearly complete script dump within a week. Thus, Dynamic Designs has been working on this game since 2009. Bongo` solved the compression in short order, and the project is well underway. With Ritchie's tender loving care (That's Ritchie of GameFAQs fame!), he has already translated a large portion of the 69 script files. Recca and LostTemplar have submitted translations of most of the miscellaneous (menu) files, and along with Ritchie's updates, everything has been incorporated into our working ROM. With Taskforce primed to draw another fine font, one that matches the fire in the eyes of the heroes, and Recca and Red Soul helping polish the emerging story, the lot of us are feeling the passions of the Burning Continent! Note: Deltaflame has been checking in periodically on our Burning Heroes message board. He is inactive at the moment but remains an honorary member of our BH team.
